Abstract

312,510. Worthington, W. R. June 18, 1928. Addition to 312,473. Tea, rolling. - The machine according to the parent Specification is modified by providing a. flexible connection 17 operable by a lever 16 driven from the main shaft 9 to actuate the presser 3 normally resting upon the tea to apply pressure to the tea automatically and periodically. The flexible connection 17 after passing over a pair of guide pulleys 44, 45 and pulley 46, is connected at 36 to one end of a double-armed lever 37, which is fulcrummed at 38 to the frame 40 of the receptacle 2. The other end of the lever 37 bears through the medium of a fork 41 upon the centre of the presser 3. The arm 16 is loosely mounted upon the shaft 14, and is operated by the clutch 18, shaft 14 and toothed gearing of the machine, in the manner similar to the operation of the cam that actuates the push- .rod as described in the parent Specification. A detent 48 is also provided for maintaining the arm 16 in its lowermost position for a predetermined period.
