Suction apparatus; shaking apparatus for wire cloths.-To prevent the wire cloth 1 from cutting into the wooden tops of the suction boxes 4, a slow lateral to-and-fro movement is imparted to the wire cloth by means of a roller 6 one bearing of which is pivoted while the other is mounted to slide in a standard 17 and is reciprocated by a link 20 driven from a pin on a worm wheel 13 which is rotated by a worm 12 on a rotating shaft 11. A chain 22 drives the shaft 11 from a roller 5 driven by the wire cloth 1.
