Abstract

Turning; cutters.-Wooden rods 9 to be pointed are fed from a hopper 19 to a notched carrier 7 on a shaft 1 on which are fixed supporting discs 4. Shoes 11 are pulled by springs 16 and pressing the rods against the roughened notches in the carrier cause the rods to rotate, during which time they are pointed by an inclined rotating cutter 27 carrying blades 26. End guides 21 are provided, one with a spring 23 to hold it up.
