Mangles and wringers, driving-gear for. - A gear-box comprises a driving shaft 12 and countershaft 7, and an aperture 3 to receive a driven shaft 4 on which the lower wringer roller 5 is mounted. The shaft 12 is secured adjustably in a slot 13 in the base of the box, so as to be movable towards or away from the countershaft to adjust the tension on the chain 15 that passes round the sprockets 14, 10. The gear-box as a whole is secured adjustably to the machine frame by bolts that pass through slots 18 .. 20 in the gear-box, so that the distance between the countershaft and driven shaft may be varied to adjust the tension on the chain 11 that encircles the sprockets 8, 6.
