Mangles and wringers, driving-gear for.-In mangling and wringing ma chines having chair and sprocket-whee driving - gear the hand driving-wheel 9 and its pinion are mounted upon a stud 6 which takes through a slot in a bracket 7 fixed upon the end frame A o the machine. The stud is adjusted by a nut 8 so as to take up slack in the chain, and is tightened by a nut 6<a>. The connection between the driving-wheel and its pinion is formed as a clutch coupling 5<a> so that the wheel may be readily removed. A guard 10 for the gearing is mounted upon the bracket 7 by a set-screw 11.
