Abstract

312,002. Williams, E. Aug. 20, 1928. Doors.-A supporting grid for the brickwork of a furnace door comprises lengths of metallic pipe through which flows cooling liquid, the structure including a marginal portion 1 and one or more intermediate portions 2 opening into the marginal portion, the portions 2 being of less thickness than the marginal portion so as to form a space for brick filling 3. The portions 2 are spaced apart by the width of a brick and bricks 30 laid lengthwise extend between them, the dimensions of the pipes 1, 2 being such as to accommodate standard bricks. Water circulating pipes 4 are provided and the door is fitted with suspension lugs 6 and an observation hole 5.
