Abstract

311,800. Thornley, F. C. Feb. 15, 1928. Signs, supporting and securing.- A door-knocker, handle, numeral, or other fitting 10, 11 is detachably secured to a door 12 by a pin or bolt 9 carried bv the knocker &c. and passed through the door, the inner end of the bolt 9 having threads or serrations which are engaged laterally by a half-nut 7 or like member nesiliently mounted and moved into engagement by a pivoted lever 4 of wedge-form cross-section. The lever 4 is moved into place between the nut 7 and fixed abutments 3 to one of which the lever is pivoted. The nut is mounted on a plate spring 6 suitably fixed to a socket-member 2 which also carries the members 3, 4 and has a projecting portion 19 to prevent rotation in the door. The knocker &c. plate 10 has a projection 13 entering the door to prevent rotation. Several numerals &c. may be carried by a single pin 9.
