Abstract

Springs, arrangement of. - In vehicle spring suspensions of the type wherein the road axle is carried by levers pivoted to the chassis and under the control of springs, leaf and coil springs are adapted to coact in absorbing the axle displacement. As shown in Fig. 2 the wheel axis is carried by a lever d pivoted at b and is under the control of a spiral spring o and the leaf spring p. The leaf spring p is pivoted at f and the other end is under the control of a second spiral spring o. Fig. 3 shows the axle carried by a leaf spring p and connected to a pivoted lever d under the control of a spring o the free end of the leaf spring is connected to a similar lever d under the control of an auxiliary coiled spiral spring o<1>.
