Abstract
310,847. Minck, P. H. May 1, 1928, [Convention date]. Hulling, husking, and decorticating.-Cotton seed pods are treated to separate the husks from the fibres by passing them into a casing d containing rotary beaters b arranged in a downwardly conveying helix. The casing is provided with a cooling-jacket c through which water or brine passes. Another cooling-jacket h surrounds the upper part i of the casing. A fan n, arranged above the beaters, draws the freed fibres upwards from the casing. The separated husks may be mixed with cotton seed flour and used as fodder.
