Abstract

307,777. Carpmael, A., (I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.-Ges.). Dec. 13, 1927. 2: 3-Oxynaphthoic, arylides. - Solutions of 2 : 3-oxynaphthoic arylides for use in dyeing are stabilized by the addition of a sulphonated fatty acid derived from wool fat, having the property of forming clear pseudo solutions in alkaline as well as in neutral or acid media, such as mav be made by the process described in Specification 307,776. Formaldehyde may also be added to the solutions. In an example, the #-naphthalide is pasted with the sulphonated fatty acid, made by the process of Specification 307,776, boiled with dilute caustic soda until a clear solution is obtained and the solution is diluted, cooled and formaldehyde is added thereto.
