Abstract

306,844. I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges. Feb. 25, 1928, [Convention date]. Stable diazo compounds. - The condensation products of diazo or tetrazo compounds with secondary bases containing no sulphonic, carboxylic or ethereal sulphite groups such as piperidine or dimethyl- or diethylamine are used for producing azo dyestuffs on the fibre. The free diazo solution is obtained. from the stable condensation product by treatment with acid. According to examples cotton impregnated with 2 : 3-hydroxynaphthoic acid-a-naphthalide by the usual process is developed with the piperidine compound of diazotized m-nitro-o-toluidine which has been treated with hydrochloric acid and a solubilizing agent or with the piperidine compound of tetrazotized dianisidines similarly treated.
