Abstract
305,704. Oxley, F. W. Nov. 9, 1927. Pumps.-A rotary valve 3 is formed with a longitudinal passage 8 through which air is forced by a fan (not shown) enclosed in a cone fixed to the fore end of the valve housing, this air being afterwards injected into the exhaust pipe or silencer, so as to assist in expelling the exhaust and to create a vacuum in the cylinders causing a great inrush of the induction gases.
