305,598. Bergische Stahl-Industrie. Feb. 7, 1928, [Convention date]. Detachable-rim attachments to wheels. - A divisible tyre-carrying rim is detachably secured to the arms of a 3-spoke wheel-spider by means such as are described in Specifications 249,779 and 303,145. In the form shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the rim-parts 20, 21, connected by bolts 23 engaging lugs 22, are formed with wedge seats 18, 19, which are clamped between complementary seats 18<1>, 19<1> on the bifurcated spoke ends. The latter are adjusted by means of bolts 16, each threaded into one part of a spoke and having a coned shoulder engaging the other spoke-part. Fig. 3 shows a modification in which the bolts 26 engage threaded and countersunk lugs 24, 25 on the rimparts 20, 21, respectively. A positive drive is provided by means of a collar 29 on the bolt engaging a slot 30 in the spoke end. The spokes are preferably of U-section. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 249,779.
