305,566. British Celanese, Ltd., Ellis, G. H., and Olpin, H. C. Nov. 7, 1927. Divided on 305,560, and addition to 237,943. Nitro dyes. - The following nitro compounds suitable for dyeing cellulose acetate are obtained by condensation of the appropriate nitrohalogenbenzene with the appropriate amino compound : 2-nitro-4-chlor-4<1>- (or 3<1>)-methyldiphenylamine. 2-nitro-4-chlor-4<1>-ethoxydiphenylamine, 2-nitro- 4-chlor-4<1>-acetylaminodiphenylamine, 2-nitro-4 (or 4')- bromdiphe,n,ylamine, 2-nitro-4-brom-4<1>- methoxydiphenylamine, 2-nitrodiphenylamine, 2- nitro-4-methyldiphenylamine, 2-nitro-4-methyl- 4<1>-ethoxydiphenylamine, 2-nitro-4<1>-chlordiphenylamine, and 2-nitro-4<1>-acetylaminodiphenylamine.
