Abstract

304,338. Mowat, A. L., and Ingham, E. Sept. 19, 1927. Carding-engines; openers &c.-Card clothing for application to the cylinders, rollers, flats, or other mechanism, of machines for opening, breaking, carding, &c. comprises a strip or sheet B of metal from which the teeth A are punched or stamped and bent up at the correct angle. The sheet may be corrugated or bent between the rows of teeth to obtain a closer setting. The teeth may be of any required shape, straight or curved, long and slender or saw-toothed. The strip or sheet may be punched or provided with prongs for attachment to cylinders &c., and may be provided with marginal flanges and prongs for attachment to flats.
