Condensers.-In order to avoid shrinkage and the formation of hollow spaces in wound condensers, the carrier of the dielectric is impregnated or coated and dried before the operation of winding, the latter being then carried out while submerged in a liquid insulating medium, which may be hot or cold and the same as that used for the impregnating process, provided it does not again dissolve the dried dielectric.
