Abstract

Drawings to Specification. wrapping-materials.-A material particularly intended for wrapping or covering perishable goods is made by immersing a cotton or other fabric in a bath of cellulosic solution, withdrawing the fabric and passing it through a fine slit so as to force the solution into the fabric. The slit may be formed in the receptacle containing the solution and located below the level of the solution, and is preferable adjustable. The cellulosic solution may be viscose, and the material after impregnation passed through a bath of dilute sulphuric acid to coagulate the viscose. The finished material is neutral, aermless, tasteless, odourless, gasproof, flexible and tough.
