Apparatus for making filaments.-Nozzles for spinning artificial filaments are made from wire gauze that has been subjected to considerable pressure. After pressing, the holes mav be made more nearly circular as by broaching. By choosing a suitable type and weave of gauze, nozzles with apertures of an elongated or other non-circular shape may be obtained. The gauze used may be made of non-corrosive material.
