Abstract

Lactic acid or other fatty oxy-acid is added to the sulphuric acid precipitating-bath employed in the spinning of viscose filaments. The addition is particularly useful in the fine-spinning process of Specification 166,931. The proportion of lactic acid is increased according to the concentration of the acid in the bath and according to the freshness of the viscose.
