Abstract

For the manufacture of very fine threads from raw viscose by the draw-spinning process of the parent Specification, a coagulating-bath of a modified composition is employed, consisting of a solution containing about 100 grammes of ammonium sulphate per litre, saturated with respect to sodium or magnesium sulphate or both, and containing a proportion of sulphuric acid adjusted according to the principle formulated in the parent Specification, the proportion of ammonium sulphate being regarded as equivalent to half its weight of sulphuric acid, and the sodium or magnesium sulphate being neglected.
