Abstract
302,607. Motorenfabrik Deutz Akt.- Ges. Dec. 16, 1927, [Convention date]. Producers.-The temperature in the fire zones of gas producer plants having two zones in one producer, or more than one fire zone in separate producers, is regulated automatically by means dependent on the temperature in these zones or on the pressures in the air inlet pipes to these zones. A double-fire gas producer a has air inlet, pipes b, c, in the latter of which is a fixed damper l. A thermo-electric element d acting through a meter e and relay f sets a resistance g connected in series with a battery h and electromagnet i which controls a damper k in the upper air supply pipe b. If the temperature in the upper fire rises the resistance g in circuit is reduced and the magnet i tends to close the damper k and reduce the temperature of the fire. In a modification differentially connected thermo-electric elements are arranged in each fire for controlling the air supply to the upper fire. In Fig. 3 is shown a differentially arranged piston n connected to the two air supply pipes, so that on increase of air pressure in one pipe, the damper q or r in that pipe is closed by a system of levers p connected to the piston. Other modifications show arrangements for controlling the air supply to more than one producer, and when a falling gas demand takes place.
