Abstract

9101. British Thomson-Houston Co., [General Electric Co.]. June 21. Actuating.-Dampers or valves 15, disposed one in each of a number of branches 14 arranged in parallel and leading from a common fluid main 9, such as the air supply of a number of gas-producers, are controlled by a vane 21 in each branch and by a similar single vane 28 in the main 9. In each branch 14, the damper 15 is connected by links 16, 17, 18, 19 to the vane 21, and all the dampers 15 are connected by links 24, 25 to the vane 28, the arrangement of the links being such that an increase of flow through the main 9 tends to open all the dampers 15 by the same amount, while an increase of flow in any branch 14 tends to close the damper 15 therein only. An indicator 31 is provided for each vane 21.
