106,827. Akt.-Ges. Brown, Boveri, et Cie. June 2, 1916, [Convention date]. Regulating.-Relates to governor-controlled apparatus for regulating steam or gas turbines adapted, to obviate unintended shirtings in the distribution of the load between large and small turbines working in parallel. A series of nozzle valves D<1> - - D<4> are adapted to be opened gradually and successively by oil pressure admitted by a pipe L to the undersides of spring-pressed pistons V<1> - - V<4> directly connected to the valves, each valve in turn assuming any desired intermediate position between closed and open, according to the oil pressure, which is regulated by a centrifugal governor R opening or closing an outlet. A hand-controlled throttle valve K adjusts the quantity of oil from the governor gear. An emergency valve to prevent racing, and a governorcontrolled main inlet valve, may be provided in front of the nozzle valves. In a modification, the valve D<1> of the first nozzle group regulates also the main steam admission, being arranged for this purpose in the inlet pipe H.
