Abstract
A valve system associated with the ribbed plate assembly(ies) allows a first fluid to flow through one set of channels while a second fluid flows through the other sets of channels. At selected intervals, the valve system switches over so that the first fluid passes through those other channels first having verified that they are free of the second fluid. As well as change over valves, the system includes separate flow regulator valves. Defrosting, e.g. removal of CO2 'snow' from the channels, can be easily effected.
