Abstract

302,310. Maschinenfabrik Augsburg- Niirnberg Akt.-Ges. Dec. 14, 1927, [Convention date]. Rotary offset presses. - A multi-colour lithographic offset press is constructed so as to be capable of printing in four colours on one side of a web, or in three colours on one side and one colour on the other, or for perfecting in two colours. The machine comprises two seta of rotary offset units 8, 4; 5, 6, and between these is arranged a web-reversing device 8 comprising guide rollers and two diagonal turning bars 8<a>. The printing sets can be used to print on two webs with two colours on one side, or to perfect two webs with one colour on each side. For printing four colours on one side of a web 9. this web is led through the units 4, 6, reversed by 8, and then passed through the units 3, 5 as indicated by the full lines 12, Fig. 2. Or the web may be similarly printed with four colours on the reverse side by passing, as shown in dotted lines 13, first through the units 3, 5, then the reversing device 9, and finally the units 4, 6. By varying the path of the web it can be printed on in three colours on either side and one colour on the other, or it can be perfected in two colours. A reversing device 10 similar to the device 8 is arranged in front of the folder 7, so that if desired the paper can be reversed before passing to the folder.
