Abstract

302,232. Basenach, N. Dec. 12, 1927, [Convention date]. Aeroplanes; cars; floats, arrangement and disposition of.-The of a flying boat is made wholly or in part as an inflatable hollow body strengthened by internal air pressure. The hull may be formed of wood or metal in known manner, or may be made of flexible material such as gastight cotton linen or silk cloth, or rubberized canvas. In the case of a flexible hull, an envelope may be provided formed of a network of steel cable and metal strip. In the example shown in Fig. 2, only the forecastle a is formed as a pneumatic body. Side floats b are provided on the water-line. The hull may be made in two separate longitudinal portions, or may be subdivided by longitudinal or transverse partitions as for example in Fig. 4.
