Abstract

353,257. Landing gangways. ROIE, F. VAN, Avenue du ChÔteau, Bornhem, BOGAERTS, J., 8, Boulevard Clovis, Brussels, and HEYLEN, A., 58, Rue du CongrÞs, Antwerp, all in Belgium. July 28, 1930, No. 22699. [Class 113 (i).] A gangway 1 designed for loading and unloading ships is supported adjacent the ship by a compartmented pontoon 2 to which it is connected by a universal joint. A similar pontoon 3 supports the other end of the gangway which if desired, may be supported intermediate its ends by other pontoons. In an alternative construction, the gangway is supported by a hollow structure pivoted to the quay and may be arranged to slide inside a container.
