Screw propellers; driving arrangements for screw propellers.-Ships are supported on propelling floats or submarines and torpedoes have rotary skin sections carrying propeller blades. The hull a, Fig. 1, is supported on floats b, c, through struts d or end brackets e. The floats have a helical rib f, g of opposite hand and are rotated by gearing such as a chain j and sprockets k. More than one pair of floats may be employed. The power plant may be placed inside the floats. For submarines n, Fig. 5, rotatable skin sections n', n<2>, have opposite pitched blades o, p.
