Abstract
300,630. Chemieverfahren Ges. Nov. 18, 1927, [Convention date]. Sodium and potassium sulphates are prepared by double decomposition of sodium or potassium chloride with magnesium sulphate in a solution of ammonium chloride in aqueous ammonia. The sulphate remains in solid form and the magnesium chloride goes into solution. In an example, magnesium sulphate in the form of kieserite, potassium chloride, and ammonium chloride are warmed with water until the kieserite is hydrated, and after cooling ammonia is added.
