Abstract

300,401. Matter, O. Nov. 25, 1927. Sodium, lead, and other azides.-Sodium azide is freed from carbonate, in order that it may be used for the preparation of lead or other heavy metal azide free from carbonate, by the addition to its aqueous solution of hydrates or salts of alkaline earth metals, such as baryta. The purified solution may be treated to separate solid sodium azide, or used directly to form lead azide.
