Abstract

261,048. Andersen, F. J. E., Siesbye, I., and Weitzmann, N. J. H., (trading as Dansk Chemo-Therapeutisk Selskab ved Andersen Siesbye & Weitzmann). Nov. 7, 1925, [Convention date]. Gold double thiosulphates. - Double thiosulphates of gold with an alkali or alkaline earth metal or ammonium are obtained by dissolving aurous bromide or iodide in a solution of bromide or iodide of the other metal and adding a calculated quantity of the thiosulphate of the other metal, the reaction being effected in a solution containing alcohol. The double thiosulphate is precipitated by adding alcohol, and may be recrystallized from distilled water. In an example, aurous bromide is dissolved in a 50 per cent alcoholic solution of sodium bromide, and sodium thiosulphate is added, the product being- precipitated by the addition of alcohol.
