Burners, preventing conduction of heat from; oil reservdirs; wick burners, solid flame, and flame -regulating in.-The fuel reservoir of a heating lamp consists of two chambers A, B connected by two diametrically-opposite tubes D, the outer chamber A being shielded from the heat of the burner by the perforated conical casing or " grid frame " J and the inner chamber B by a flange g<1> on a dome C surrounding the wickburner tube M. The casing J is supported by the chamber B and carries a kettle-stand K or other device for utilizing the heat of the lamp. An annular air space C separates the inclined surfaces of the chambers A, B. The burner tube M is closed at the top and provided at its open lower end with bayonet slots adapted to engage a crossbar N at the bottom of the chamber B. The fuel passes to the wick through slots m<1> in the tube M and the flame issues through slots m<2>. The flame is regulated or extinguished by a tube S which can be raised to cover partially or wholly the slots m<2> by means of rack and pinion gearing s', r<2> operable by a spindle R having a milled head r<1> located outside the casing J. A filling spout a<2> fitted with a screw cap a<3> is provided on the chamber A.
