Abstract

299,621. Pullin, C. G., and Groom, S. L. Nov. 23, 1927. Spokes, securing.-In a cycle &c, hub, the spoke flanges 4 are seated on reduced end portions 3 of the barrel 2 which form abutments for the outer bearings 8. The inner bearings 10 are clamped between a shoulder 12 on the sleeve 11 and nuts 13, 14. Packing washers clamped against the outer ends of the bearings 10 each comprise a plain disc 15 and a dished disc 16 embracing a ring 18 of leather, felt, &c. which is pressed into close contact with the sleeve 6 of the hub-flange 4 on adjustment of the nuts 13, 14.
