Abstract

299,401. Robertson, T. E., (Power Specialty Co.). April 25, 1927. Bends.-A return bend A for parallel tubes D, D is provided with hand holes E opposite both of the tube openings C, and said holes E are normally adapted to be closed by a plug F having its inner ends shaped to approximate a smooth extension of the curved outer wall of the tube connecting passage B. The plug is provided with an intermediate conical portion F<2> which coacts with a conical seat E<2> in the opening E, while it is retained in place by a securing member G having diametrically opposed extensions G' which engage lugs A' projecting laterally into the outer end of the said opening. Final adjustment of the plug is obtained by a screw H which is threaded through the securing member G and bears thereon, while to ensure proper angular disposition of the plug it is provided with a finger f<1> which is engaged with a recess E<5> in the opening E. Modified constructions for securing the plug F in position are described.
