Magneto-electric machines. -A field-magnet for a magneto for a bicycle lamp or a similar purpose consists of a number of bar-magnets inserted into a yoke and secured thereto by a fastening-device engaging with openings in the magnets. In the arrangement shown, the yoke 4 is held on a spindle 2 between a. collar 16 and nut 17. The magnets 5 enter openings in the yoke and are held 17. The magnets 5 enter opengripped between the yoke and the collar 16 and entering slots in the magnets. The plate 13 may be of a star shape so that it can be inserted after the magnets have been placed in position and then turned to enter the slots. In a modification. the magnets may be secured by spring rings entering grooves in the magnets, which rings may be held between the laminations of the yoke.
