Magneto-electric machines. -The field system of a small lighting or other magneto comprises one or more pairs of magnets d, e held against a non-magnetic casing a by means of members h, i which are wedged between the ends of the magnets and act as pole-pieces; pole-shoes j, k, are formed integral with the pole-pieces and are arranged not to contact with the magnets. The magnets are preferably of cobalt steel and have a rectangular crosssection. The magnets or the armature may rotate.
