Abstract

292,550. Landis et Gyr Soc. Anon. June 22, 1927, [Convention date]. Induction motor meters. -In induction meters with a current magnet core 2 having a magnetic shunt 5 which lies transversely to the plane of the core 2 and which extends to the side of the core so as to leave a clear space between the poles to receive a counterpole 4 to the voltage core, recesses 6 in the core 2 receive the iron shunt 5 and leave untouched at least those edges 8 of the polepieces 9 of the core 2 which extend transversely to the plane of the core 2. The recesses 6 may be channels in the faces 9 as shown, the ends of the shunt 5 being secured therein by making the recesses 6 of dovetail shape and interposing non-magnetic material such as brass or by bolts passing through the shunt 5 to engage nuts in recesses in the core 2. In a modification, the ends of the shunt 5 are received in slots near the pole faces of the core 2.
