Abstract
298,949. Aktiebolaget Separator. Oct. 17, 1927, [Convention date]. This subject-matter was included in Specification 292,127, wchich was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, June 15, 1928. Density separators.-A centrifugal machine for separating liquid has one or more tubes F, to convey the separated heavy component to the discharge chambers G in the upper part B of the hood. The chambers G are machined out of the hood or are arranged in a bushing fixed in the hood. The bottom H of the chambers prevents the separated liquids from re-mixing. The light component is discharged through the regulating screw J, which can be adjusted in the chamber P in the hood; the chamber P is closed at the top. Small drain channels S are arranged between the chambers G, and open into outlet holes T situated in the same plane as the regulating screw J. If the tubes F do not extend to the periphery of the top disc C the passages are continued by wings on the disc C or in the hood. Where it is desired to discharge the light component at a higher level than the heavy component, the position of the discharge screw J is raised, and the heavy component is discharged through openings in the side walls of the chambers G.
