Abstract

Induction motor meters.-The position of the driving magnet cores of induction measuring instruments wherein the cores are in direct connection is adjusted by sliding the cores in direct mechanical contact with each other along their planes of separation. In one arrangement, Fig. 1, the voltage magnet core 6 is secured by countersunk bolts 3, passing through angle-pieces 4, to a flanged carrier frame 1 mounted in the meter casing. To the same limb of the angle-pieces are secured by screws 11, the ferro-magnetic connections 9 between the current and voltage cores, the connection providing surface joints 10 between the cores. In the other limbs 12 of the angle-pieces are mounted differential screws 15 having fine and coarse threads 13, 14 and also set-screws 16 which connect the carrier frame 1 in such a manner that by adjusting the screws 15, the voltage and current magnets can be given a small relative movement without altering the magnetic path at 10. In another arrangement, Fig. 4, the adjustment is obtained by eccentrics 32 mounted in slots 33 in the current magnet core 29. The eccentrics are turned by screws 31 in plates 30 secured to the voltage core extension 27. Aligned recesses in the core members may be provided so that a relative twist applied between the two meeting surfaces provides a sufficient adjustment.
