Abstract
297,172. Miller, H. C., and Sumner, M. July 6, 1927. Tipping-wagons. - Fluid-pressure lifting and tipping jacks of the kind having relief passages for the escape of pressure fluid when pumping is continued after the ram has reached the end of its lift, are provided with an annular groove or recess at the inlet ends of the relief passages to prevent injury to the bucket leathers of the rams. The relief passages 6 communicate through apertures 4 with the pressure chamber of the ram section 2. The wall of the ram section is formed with an annular groove 5 into which the inner ends 4a of the apertures 4 open, so that the edge of the cup leather is drawn past the apertures without being damaged by the escape of the pressure fluid through the apertures.
