Abstract
296,455. Miller, H. C., and Sumner, G. P. May 30, 1927. Jacks. -F l u i dpressure jacks of the kind in which the circulating channels are formed in the base of the jack and terminate in open ings on the exterior of the base which are closed as by screwed plugs, have all the distributing valves arranged in valve chambers in the outer ends of the circulating channels. As applied to a jack with a single pump, the pump barrel 10, the bore 11 of the release valve 9 and their connecting channels 12 are. arranged in the same vertical plane, the. distributing valves 15 being positioned in valve chambers 10<b> formed at the outer ends of the channels 12. which are closed by screwed plugs 10<c>, thus facilitating access to the valves. A horizontal channel 14 leads to the reservoir and a second horizontal channel 17. Fig. 3, leads to the ram cylinder 3, a lateral channel 22 being controlled by an adjustable spring-controlled safety valve 21. The operating handle 5 is connected to the pump plunger 71 and is also adapted to actuate the release valve 9. Specifications 280,754 and 290,688 are referred to.
