Abstract

[Also in Division F1] A floating piston 5, 6 is movable through an adjustable stroke in a closed cylinder 4, thereby to displace a predetermined volume of hydraulic fluid from a chamber 9 through a line 15 to a cylinder chamber 14 and thus cause proportional displacement of a piston 2 operating the ejecting device of a moulding machine. The stroke of the piston 5, 6, and consequently the piston 2, is adjusted by a setting pin 11 screwed into the cylinder 4 and locked by a sleeve 12. To move the floating piston 5, 6 to the right, a valve 19 is operated to cause pressurization of a line 22. Movement of the piston 5, 6 expels fluid from an annular space 8 in the cylinder 4 through a non-return valve 26 and lines 27, 28, 24 to a tank 21. Reversal of the valve 19 pressurizes the line 24 to return the piston 2. At the end of the return stroke, the resulting pressure build-up in the line 28 opens a valve 25 thereby connecting the annular space 8 to pressure and ensuring the complete return of the piston 5, 6. Leakage from the chambers 9, 14 and the line 15 is made-up through a line 16 including a non-return valve 17.
