Abstract

369,761. Lifting jacks. LAKE & ELLIOT, Ltd., Albion Works, Braintree, and RUBURY, J. M., Park Hall, Bradwell, both in Essex. April 9, 1931, No. 10520. [Class 78 (iii).] To prevent injury to a fluid pressure lifting jack a safety valve is provided on the inlet side of the load sustaining valve. The pumps 7 are actuated by a rocking cam 11 so as to draw the pressure fluid from the reservoir 6 through inlet valves 15 and force it through delivery valves 16 to the ram cylinder 3. Safety valves 27 controlled by springs 28 abutting against adjustable screwed studs 29 are provided in passages 25 leading fromthe inlet side of the load sustaining valves 16 and communicating through ports 30 in the screwed studs 29 with the reservoir 6. The safety valve may be arranged between the pump chamber and the load sustaining valve. Specification 322,507, [Class 78 (iii), Lifts &c.], is referred to.
