Abstract

297,061. Still, C. Sept. 13, 1927, [Convention date]. Materials for purifying gases containing hydrogen sulphide comprise an aqueous solution of an alkali, e.g. sodium carbonate, containing in suspension an oxide or hydrated oxide of iron with a small proportion of an oxide or hydrated oxide of manganese. A manganese content of about 5 per cent of the iron content is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the use of an oxide or hydrated oxide of manganese without the iron suspension. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
