Abstract

299,919. Evans, A. J. Aug. 8, 1927. Iron oxide.-The known reaction for treating waste iron pickle by means of an alkaline earth carbonate and atmospheric oxygen is improved by the addition of a " protective " colloid, such as liquid glue, size, or other colloidal body not affected by the salts of iron. The latter promotes the separation of hydrated ferric oxide by the formation of a froth, thus exposing a larger surface of liquid to the action of the air.
