[Class 56.] A method of preventing the dulling or corrosion of sheets or plates of glass, due (to the action of condensed moisture, consists in treating the surfaces of the sheets with a medium which neutralizes the alkalies extracted from the glass by the moisture. Copper sulphate, iron sulphate, citric acid, or boric acid may be used, and the material may be incorporated with a carrier adapted to be spread thinly on the surface, such as asbestos, sawdust, or other absorbent granular material. Paper which has been saturated with a solution made by dissolving 1 gramme of iron sulphate in 1 litre of water may be used for separating glass sheets from one another when packed or stacked.
