296,654. Fairweather, H. G. C., (Greist Manufacturing Co.). April 28, 1928. Ruffing-attachments. -Variable movement is transmitted from the needle-bar to the ruffling blade by means of levers 15 and 16 mounted on one pivot 15<a>. An arm 24, pivoted at 25 on the lever 15 and adjustably held in place by engagement of a projection 28 with teeth 29, carries a pin 27 which passes through an arcuate slot 26 in the lever 15 and an open slot 16a in the lever 16. By moving the arm 24, the pin 27 is moved to or from the pivot 15<a> and the amount of lost motion in the slot 16a and the consequent movement of the ruffling blade are varied. The separator plate 21 is slotted at its forward end to form a work-guide 22 and an edge guide is also provided at 23 on the arm 13 by which the attachment is secured to the presser bar.
