Abstract
296,011. British Dyestuffs Corporation, Ltd., Brightman, R., and Chorley, P. April 22, 1927. Disazo and trisazo dyes.-Regenerated cellulose silk is dyed in level shades with the dyestuff's obtained by coupling a tetrazotized 4 : 4<1>-diaminodiphenyl mono-, di-, or tri-sulphide' with two molecular proportions of an aminocaphtholsulphonio acid or an N-substituted derivative thereof or with one molecular proportion of such an acid or derivative and one molecular proportion of any coupling component. The following dyestuff, are specified in examples :-(1) 1 mol. 4 : 4'-diamino diphenvlmonosulphide (a]L-alir'e), 1 mol. salicylic acid. and 1 mol. 2-phenylamino-8-naphthol-6-sulphonic acid, dyeing viscose. silk a level brown; (2) 1 mol. 4:4'-diaminodiphenyl monosulphide # (alkaline) 1 mol. salicylic acid and 1 mol. of the aminoazo compound p-nitrani!ine -> (acid) 1-amino-8-naphthol- 3. R-disulphonic acid, dyeing viscose silk a. level dark green. A table is also, given showing the shades on viscose silk with various combinations of components and conditions of coupling, other specified coupling components being 1: 8-amino- Baphthol-4-sulphonic acid, 2-phenylamino-5- naphthol-7-sulphonic acid, 2-amino-5-naphthol-7- culphcnic acid, 2-napbthy!glycine-8-oxy-6-6ulphonic acid, 2-amino-8-naphthol-6-sulphonic acid, 2-acetylamino-8-naphthol-6-sulphonlo acid, 2-mxyIy]amiDO'-8-naphthoI-6-suIphonic acid, 1-phen<y>]- 3 - methyl) - 5-pyrazolone, l-(4'-sulpho-phenyl-3- methyl-5-pyrazojone.. and 1- (2': fj'-dichloro-4'- sulpho) phenyl,3-methyl-5.pyrazolone'. Specification '296,047 is referred to. Specification 154C-,#,jll i6 referred to in the Provisional Specification.
