Abstract

295,903. Martin, J. P. M. H. March 2, 1928. Lubricant conveyed by fluid; visible feeds.- Lubricant is drawn from a container A, provided with a detachable cover B having vent holes D and with a drain plug E, into the induction pipe K of a motor-vehicle engine, through a pipe F provided at its inlet end with a gauge filter F<1> and at its outlet end with a cock L, a glass tube J interposed in the pipe F being mounted on the dashboard so that the feed may be viewed. A cock H arranged at the inlet end of the tube J is controlled by a lever I<1>. The tube J is protected by a casing M, Fig. 3, having a slot N through which the tube is visible and a vertical slot 0 having serrations adapted to hold the lever I<1> in adjusted position.
