Abstract

295,048. Breton, J. L. Aug. 6, 1927, [Convention date] Plates, dishes, and the like, washing.-In a machine employing a receptacle 1, in which a rotatablymounted rack carrying dishes is rotated by jets of washing water from perforated tubes communicating with a pump 4 drawing water from a reservoir 5, liquid flowing to the pump is subjected to double filtration by passing through a detachable tray 7 with large holes and a cylindrical strainer 11 with smaller holes. The strainer surrounds the suction tube 25 of the pump 4 and is secured to a closure 12 which is adapted to seal an opening in the reservoir 5, the closure being held in place by means including a handle 16 secured to a screw-threaded rod engaging a boss 14 on the closure. The dishes in the rack rest on two circular frames 50 each of which may consist of a strip of rubber or soft material projecting from a channel-shaped support. Between these frames is disposed a third frame having rubber or similarly covered inclined pegs 54 which hold the dishes in place. There may be two frames provided with pegs. The machine may be provided with a boiler 41 provided with mixing taps adapted to supply tepid or hot water to perforated tubes from which it is sprayed over the dishes in the rack.
